Bilingual (Spanish) Certified Medical Assistant

Power Health Colorado is seeking a Bilingual Medical Assistant (English/Spanish) to support our multidisciplinary clinical teams in delivering high-quality care to workers’ compensation (WC), personal injury (PI), and general orthopedic patients. This role is essential in ensuring efficient clinic flow, accurate clinical documentation, and a positive patient experience—particularly for Spanish-speaking patients.
The ideal candidate is clinically competent, organized, patient-focused, and comfortable serving as a bridge between providers and patients in a fast-paced outpatient medical setting.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Support
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
- Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments as needed
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure proper infection control and sterilization protocols
- Administer injections or assist with modalities as delegated and within scope
Bilingual Patient Support
- Serve as a Spanish–English language resource for patients during check-in, clinical visits, and discharge
- Assist with patient instructions, care plans, and follow-up communication in Spanish when needed
- Support providers and staff by facilitating clear communication with Spanish-speaking patients (non-certified interpretation within clinic scope)
Documentation & Workflow
- Accurately document clinical information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Assist with intake forms, consent forms, and treatment documentation
- Support authorization workflows, referrals, and care coordination as directed
- Communicate effectively with front office, case managers, and providers to ensure smooth patient flow
Patient Experience
- Provide professional, compassionate, and culturally sensitive patient care
- Answer patient questions related to clinic processes and next steps
- Ensure patients feel informed, supported, and respected throughout their visit
Clinic Operations
- Maintain stocked exam rooms and clinical supplies
- Follow PHCO policies, OSHA standards, and HIPAA regulations
- Assist with clinic efficiency initiatives and quality improvement efforts
- Support multiple providers and modalities as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical experience
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient medical setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Proficiency with EMRs and basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in orthopedics, workers’ compensation, personal injury, urgent care, or rehabilitation
- CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification (preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with WC/PI documentation and workflows
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary clinic environment
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology in both English and Spanish
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance
- Ability to assist patients with mobility as needed
