Power Health Colorado, a leading provider of rehabilitative healthcare services, is currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our multidisciplinary team. The PA will work closely with a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, neurological disorders, and other complex conditions requiring rehabilitative interventions. As a PA specializing in PM&R, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients under the supervision of a PM&R physician. You will participate in all aspects of patient care, including initial assessments, ongoing monitoring, therapeutic interventions, and patient education. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and passionate about working in a dynamic rehabilitative medicine setting.

Responsibilities

Patient Evaluation and Assessment

  • Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations focused on musculoskeletal, neurological, and functional status.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., imaging, laboratory studies) in collaboration with supervising physician.
  • Assess patient progress and adjust care plans in accordance with clinical findings and patient needs.

Treatment Planning and Implementation

  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans under the direction of the PM&R physician.
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and interventions as appropriate and within the scope of practice.
  • Coordinate care with physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and other team members.

Procedural Assistance

  • Assist the physician with in-office procedures such as joint injections, nerve blocks, EMGs, and other rehabilitative interventions.
  • Monitor patient responses to procedures and provide immediate post-procedure care and education.

Patient Education and Advocacy

  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, preventing strategies, and rehabilitation goals.
  • Promote patient engagement in therapy, adherence to care plans, and self-management techniques.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough electronic medical records in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing PA practice.

Team Collaboration

  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, case discussions, and care planning meetings.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment through effective communication, respect, and professional integrity.

Professional Development

  • Engage in ongoing education, training, and professional growth activities to maintain licensure and enhance clinical skills.
  • Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Active Colorado PA license.
  • Level 1 Colorado WC certification .
  • Experience in physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopedics, neurology, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Passion for rehabilitation medicine and patient advocacy.
  • Adaptability and resilience in managing complex clinical situations.
  • Strong sense of accountability and attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Dedication to continuous learning and professional development.
